What to measure before garage furniture removal
Measure the furniture and the narrowest opening on its way out. A piece that fits the garage may not pass a side gate.
Record the piece
Write down width, depth and height for each bulky item. Note if legs, doors or shelves are loose or already detached.
Measure the route
Check doorways, gates and turns between the item and the loading area. Photograph a tight corner if a written description is hard to explain.
Decide what stays
Separate cushions, drawers and contents only when safe to do so. Mark furniture you are keeping before a crew arrives.
Ask about scope
Tell the provider if a piece must be disassembled. Do not assume cutting, demolition or wall removal is included in furniture pickup.
Take this list into the conversation
- Which items leave and which stay?
- How many bulky pieces are there?
- What is the route from item to truck?
- Are any appliances, electronics or excluded materials involved?
